Marathon Sports is a leading sports retail brand in Latin America. They approached us to design and develop a gamified loyalty platform aimed at increasing engagement, customer retention, and the collection of first-party data during the soccer tournament. The solution allows users to interact with the brand, participate in predictions, and access benefits through a simple, intuitive, and mobile-first experience.

What was
challenge?
The brand needed a digital solution that combines customer engagement, retention, and first-party data collection, integrating a seamless user experience with robust business operations. Additionally, it had to support a multi-country rollout, accounting for varying rules, benefits, and legal requirements.

Strategy and User Experience
We begin with a Discovery and UX phase, where we define the strategy for the gamified loyalty platform by aligning business, marketing, and technology objectives.
We apply UX research and user experience design techniques to understand user navigation, behaviors, and needs, optimizing onboarding and the engagement flow.
In this phase, we also define the product rules, the logic for engagement, retention, and first-party data collection, along with a scalable architecture ready for multi-country operations.

Interface Design and Digital Experience
We designed a user-centered interface, optimizing key workflows on the loyalty platform through gamification to maximize engagement and retention. We incorporated microinteractions, real-time feedback, and animations, creating a dynamic and intuitive experience with every action.
In addition, we developed a distinctive visual concept featuring 3D illustrations and sensory effects, creating an attractive, intuitive experience that aligns with Marathon’s digital universe.

Development of the digital platform
We developed a custom progressive web app (PWA) designed to deliver a fast, intuitive, and mobile-optimized experience. We combined UX/UI design and front-end development to create a loyalty platform capable of driving user engagement, participation, and retention.
